Dodge Intrepid, that time-traveling Aliquippa librarian, journeys into the heart of Africa to establish a library system for a small village in the live radio play, “Death Mountain Crusaders.”
“Death Mountain Crusaders” finds our time traveling hero trekking to 1940s Africa, getting caught in the Crusades, and fighting off cavemen in the Stone Age. Harking back to the old-time adventures of the The Shadow or Green Hornet, Dodge Intrepid is a Western PA-centric radio play complete with sound effects, cliffhangers, vintage commercials, and plenty of colorful voices. The show mixes adventure, local history, and comedy with a unique spin on an old art form that has found new life across the region.
Written by James Catullo and Michael Rubino, the show has been regaling Beaver County and Pittsburgh audiences with the adventures of Dodge Intrepid, the show’s librarian hero, and Pluck Gumption, his sidekick, since 2005. This pulpy adventure is set to explode onto the Cabaret at Theater Square stage Saturday, February 25th at 10:30pm. Dodge Intrepid and the Pages of Time, an original, locally-produced adventure, is presented by a trio of Pittsburgh and Cleveland-based actors.
