April 30, 2011 - May 8, 2011
This opera may just change your life. It's a moving, powerful work, based on the true story of 16 Carmelite nuns who defended their faith and were executed during the political uproar of the Reign of Terror in France. It is also the story of Blanche, a young novice who finds her faith on the way to the guillotine. Poulenc's distinctly French style gives Dialogues of the Carmelites incredible emotional impact.
