Joan Tower composed the fanfare, For the Uncommon Woman, to honor adventurous women and Made in America as a commission by 65 U.S. orchestras in all 50 states. Winner of the Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition, Olga Kern debuts in Rachmaninoff’s seldom-heard First Piano Concerto. Dvořák composed his Sixth Symphony for the Vienna Philharmonic, which skillfully portrays his Czech heritage within the Viennese symphonic tradition.
