French conductor Lucovic Morlot makes his PSO debut with a program that begins with the Overture to Weber’s Oberon, an opera based on the king of the fairies in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Sequoia was one of Joan Tower’s first award-winning compositions. Suite No. 2 from Daphnis et Chloé is a ballet score and one of Ravel’s most passionate works. Sarah Chang, winner of the prestigious Avery Fisher Prize, performs the ever-popular Bruch Concerto No. 1.
