For Early Childhood Educators: Children can learn so much about their world through outstanding picture book. They can safely explore emotions, belonging, challenges, failures, and triumphs through story-time book friends. This interactive workshop will offer practical suggestions for educators and librarians interested in making their early childhood story-times more exciting by including music and movement. Using picture books as a centerpiece for a class circle lesson plan, participants will explore the basics of choosing music that young children can master and sing, the use of fingerplays and large motor experiences to keep students moving. Participants will learn how to incorporate rhythm experiences and table top theater.

*Each participant should bring a favorite picture book with the goal of creating an original lesson plan which engages the whole child--setting them (and you!) up for success!*
